Dry port "KTZE-Khorgos Gateway" handled the first train with containers from China

Building of the Dry Port Khorgos started last year in June. Yesterday the KTZE-Khorgos Gateway dispatched 30 containers with cargo, including custom clearance and transfer of the freight containers from narrow railway gauge to the broad train track.

According to the Karl Geisen, director of KTZE-Khorgos Gateway, about 83 people already work on the port and around 12,5 billions tenge invested into the project. 

In September 2015 they plan to launch two warehouses for temporary store. Planned freight turnover should reach 38760 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) at the end of 2015. 

SEZ “Khorgos - Eastern Gate” project is very actual because Kazakhstan joined the WTO. Hence the cargo traffic will grow up drastically. Dry port «Khorgos - Eastern Gate" uses the modern logistic technologies according to standards of the world largest port operator DP World. KEG will be an effective solution for the transportation for export and import of goods.
